Deanna Rechtzigel, APRN, joined Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center in 2014.

She specializes in total joint replacement and musculoskeletal oncology and works closely with Ronald W. Hillock, M.D. She is board certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Rechtzigel attended the University of Detroit Mercy from which she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine in Portland and a Master of Science degree as a family nurse practitioner from the University of Detroit Mercy. Following school, she completed a residency as a family nurse practitioner with a concentration in orthopedics and later earned the qualification as a Registered Nurse First Assistant, meaning that she is qualified to assist surgeons during procedures.

Rechtzigel, who has lived in Southern Nevada since 2010, has more than 16 years of clinical experience ranging from the cardiac unit to the operating room. Her experience includes a position as an internal medicine hospitalist nurse practitioner and being the driving force behind the creation of The Valley Health System’s hospital-based orthopedic program.

Rechtzigel was a March of Dimes Nurse of the Year finalist in 2013.
