Susan M. Bell, APRN is a credentialed nurse practitioner who joined
Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center in 2018. She works closely with
Dr. Ronald W. Hillock, MD. She is board certified with the American
Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Susan obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1993 and her
Masters of Science in Nursing degree as a family nurse practitioner in
2015. Both degrees were earned at University of Nevada Las Vegas. As a
nurse practitioner, Susan is licensed by the state of Nevada. She can
examine, diagnose and treat patients; can prescribe medications; and assist
surgeons during surgical procedures.
Her experience as a registered nurse began in the Burn Care Unit. From
there she transitioned into multiple areas including Coronary Care Unit,
A medical-surgical unit, Pediatric ICU, and Orthopedics providing a well-rounded
scope of practice. As a nurse practitioner, she has worked in
orthopedics and in anti-aging. Additionally, she taught as a professor of
nursing at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Her family nurse practitioner
residency was completed in orthopedics and she has earned her
qualifications in first assist in surgery.
Personal interests include weight training, hiking, traveling and creating
memories with her 6 grown children. Susan competed as a national figure
competitor in 2005-2012. She has a minor in Nutrition and is certified by
the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as a personal trainer. She has
been featured as a fitness model in national publications including Muscle
& Fitness Hers and GNC. The experience as a personal trainer has helped
Susan tremendously with counsel on strength and conditioning with her
Susan was born in Atlanta, Georgia and was raised in Vancouver,
Washington. She moved to Las Vegas in 1990. She has resided here since
that time. All six of her children were born and raised in Las Vegas.
